Learning Outcomes
- Development of a Personal Leadership Identity: Participants will craft their unique leadership purpose, identity, and brand, allowing them to define their authentic style and philosophy. This personal groundwork empowers leaders to enact their vision and values consistently across all aspects of their professional lives.
- Emotional Intelligence: They become adept at recognizing and understanding their own emotions as well as those of others, which enhances their ability to manage relationships effectively. They use empathy to connect with team members, fostering a supportive and inclusive workplace environment. They demonstrate excellent self-regulation, managing stress, and making thoughtful decisions even in challenging situations.
- Learn and practice the basic coaching framework for coaching conversations, as well as five tough conversations: performance improvement, goal alignment, coaching others through conflict and navigating conflict, and behavior change.
- Fostering a Coaching Culture: Learners will gain the tools to nurture a coaching culture within their teams, promoting continuous personal and professional growth. This includes strategies for leading productive meetings, creating clarity, and directing focus toward developmental opportunities and creative problem-solving.

- Delivery method – Blended: 9 4-hour in-person learning sessions complemented by 8 2-hour online practice sessions.
- Participant outcome – Certificate
- Investment - $ 6,500 Per Participant
- Included - Online/printed workbooks and learning materials, and a leadership assessment.
Instructor
Marderé Birkill, MBL, CEC, PCC. Marderé has over 3,000 hours of professional leadership coaching
and is an experienced adult educator and learning facilitator.

Coaching Basics | Based on my leadership manifesto and the context of my current role and organization, the skills and commitment to build positive relationships with and within my team: – Learn and practice several coaching frameworks and approaches. – Learn to approach the conversation with curiosity, taming the advice monster within. Become adept at social intelligence, reading the room and helping others to regulate emotions. |
Coaching Conversations | Learn and Practice 5 crucial coaching conversations that make leading others so much easier. – Behavior Change – coaching an employee towards more productive behaviors. – Coach another person through conflict – using a strong framework, help an employee plan to resolve a conflict with a colleague – Navigate conflict – learn to analyze your role in a conflict and a conversation framework that resolves conflict with a constructive road forward. – Goal alignment – help employees make sense of their role in the company in alignment with their professional goals for strong enangemnt and commitment. – Performance improvement – a framework to empower employees to own their performance standards and the strategies to continue building. |

Additional Information
Access Funding with Job Grants
This program is eligible for the Canada Alberta Job Grant or other provincial equivalent in Canada. The program supports “soft-skill” development costs and will refund 2/3 of the program cost

We understand that leadership practices must be compatible with the organization’s purpose, values / desired culture. Therefore, we spend time with you beforehand to adapt and adjust our content to support your desired culture.
Ongoing Support for Leadership Growth
Sage & Summit would like to follow the actualization of the participants’ new and improved skills as they grow. We will follow up with the participants and their relevant supervisors at strategic touch points during the program and 3 and 6 months afterward to gain insights into what changes and leading practices continued to impact your leaders and teams.
Insightful Leadership Assessments
Our training always includes a leadership style/communication style assessment. For this program, we use the TRiMetrix HD and EQ assessments to help the participants understand their dominant behaviors, conflict responses, and EQ baseline.
Customizable Workshop Options
This program is available as an abbreviated one- or two-day workshop, which can be customized for your company’s specific requirements. The cost of the abbreviated program varies depending on the number of participants and the level of customization required.
